Disclaimer: this is not intended to be a precise statement about measured angles. Rather, this is a rough estimation meant to illustrate how much of a landscape appears to become hidden as viewing elevation declines. Much is made about the presence of inferior mirage, but what inference can be made from the existence of mirages in explaining why targets appear to sink as viewing height decreases?
I produced this on a mobile phone, after considering responses to my previous video presenting this observation:
youtube.com/watch?v=od70j-3gAKg
Please use it as a conversation point and don't hold me to a lack of precision, unless that lack of precision is critical to the analysis. (If so, I'll re-do this when I have time and better computing resources.)
Don't adjust your volume. There is no audio track with this video. It's basically a short slide show.
