Adapt your PL259 ATAS to 3/8x24  @HamRadioA2Z

In this video we will look at connecting a Yaesu ATAS-120A antenna to a 3/8x24 antenna mount on a vehicle. Adapting the ATAS (or any antenna's) PL-259 connector to a 3/8x24 mount is pretty straight forward. The one extra catch is that the ATAS uses DC power fed through the coax to run the tuning motor up and down. A 3/8x24 antenna mount doesn't provide any connection to ground or vehicle chassis to the antenna. So we have to add an extra jumper wire to complete the DC circuit so the ATAS can tune correctly.
