May 9th, 2024 - Manchester, NH - Adam Montgomery, the man convicted of killing his five-year-old daughter, Harmony, has finally faced justice. After skipping every day of his trial, Montgomery showed up in court where he received the maximum sentence. Hillsborough Superior Court Judge Amy Messer delivered a powerful statement: “Harmony was a five-year-old little girl. You treated her in the worst possible ways in both her life and her death.” Montgomery’s actions demonstrated extreme indifference to his daughter’s life, from her murder to the abuse of her corpse.
Harmony’s remains have yet to be found.
Prosecutors sought a sentence of 56 years to life, emphasizing that there was nothing “minimum” about the crimes Montgomery committed. Senior Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Agati implored Montgomery to reveal where he had disposed of Harmony’s body, but the offer was refused. Defense Attorney Caroline Smith called it a “stunt,” as Montgomery continued to deny his guilt even after the conviction.
Harmony’s mother, Crystal Corey, and other family members delivered heartbreaking statements in court. They hope that Montgomery will be haunted by their daughter for the rest of his life. Harmony deserved a life worth living, unlike her cowardly father.
