Kalpakghar, the Community STEM-Tinkering Centre at Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park, conducted an Activity-Based Teacher Training Program aligned to the National Education Policy for school educators. The training focused on hands-on, low-cost, and classroom-friendly STEM activities designed to strengthen inquiry-based and experiential learning in schools.
Educators explored a range of interactive sessions, including:
🔹 Low-cost science and mathematics hands-on activities
🔹 STEM tinkering and design-based learning approaches
🔹 Integrated science–math classroom demonstrations
🔹 Creative problem-solving strategies for students
A special highlight of the workshop was the Computational Thinking Session using MIT App Inventor, where teachers designed a simple Dice Game App.

Computational Thinking through App Design – Teacher Resource Module
The program also featured a STEM Tinkering Mini Hackathon Challenge, where participating teachers collaboratively designed and built a 2-frequency (2F) Geodesic Dome using everyday materials. This activity encouraged teamwork, design thinking, and rapid prototyping skills aligned with real-world STEM practices.
Kalpakghar - Community Tinkering Centre is an IISER Pune initiative in collaboration with Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park and supported by Tata Technologies Ltd. We aim to make STEM learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all learners and educators.
