'Lazy Tongs' devices allow you to pick up things at a distance...
First, a two handed version, then a version for one hand with a trigger kind of grip...
Then a parrot head on a stick, and a shark on a stick. A hand grip operates a string inside the stick, and causes the parrot's or the shark's mouth to open and close.
A hand grip with a claw at the end of a stick. Again, useful for picking things up, and finally a robot hand at the end of a stick.
