I cycled 300km alone through the occupied West Bank, into Israeli settlements, military checkpoints, and some of the most contested areas of Palestine.

This film follows my solo journey south through Palestine, from Bethlehem to Hebron and on towards Jericho, travelling by bicycle through a landscape shaped by Israeli settlements, military checkpoints, and tightly controlled movement.
Hebron is one of the most contested cities in the West Bank. Israeli settlers live inside the heart of a Palestinian city, protected by the military, while Palestinians face severe restrictions on where they can go and how they move. What I witnessed there made this one of the most intense and eye-opening journeys I’ve ever filmed.
The journey passes through Areas A, B, and C of the West Bank, highlighting how Israeli military control, settlement expansion, and restricted movement affect Palestinians differently depending on where they live. Beyond checkpoints and settlements, it captures everyday encounters with Palestinians navigating life under occupation, from moments of tension and uncertainty to extraordinary generosity and hospitality.
This is the second part of a longer cycle-tour documentary through Israel and Palestine, documenting the Israeli occupation of the West Bank. A full episode focused entirely on Hebron, including interviews with Youth Against Settlements activists, will follow.
This video was filmed at the end of 2022.
