The Acer Nitro V16 AI Gaming Laptop is currently on sale for $599.99 at Walmart, and it might be the best budget gaming laptop deal right now — but it’s not without compromises.
In this video, I put the Nitro V16 through 15–20 modern game benchmarks, testing both Balanced Mode and Turbo Mode to see how it really performs in real-world gaming. The laptop features an AMD Ryzen 5 AI-powered CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU, making it capable of running demanding AAA games with DLSS 4, ray tracing, and high refresh rate gameplay on its 180Hz 16” WUXGA display.
One important thing to know: the included 135W charger isn’t enough to sustain Turbo Mode, which causes battery drain while gaming even when plugged in. In my testing, Turbo Mode can drain up to 30% of the battery per hour, while Balanced Mode nearly eliminates battery drain and offers much better long-term stability.
