We all want to see cleaner rivers and waterways. So we’re thinking differently, working faster and working smarter to make the step change people want to see.

We’re accelerating investment to reduce spills from storm overflows across the North West, improving rivers like the Etherow, Eea and Eden.

This work has been completed at pace, from design to construction, delivery to commissioning.

By increasing treatment and storage capacity, our work will reduce the number of times the storm overflows operate and limiting the chances of the works becoming overwhelmed during periods of heavy rainfall.
