So it is now here, the new upgraded ACASIS TB501 Pro 80Gbps Thunderbolt 5 compatible SSD enclosure. This new version of the TB501 Pro now has PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD compatibility. Which makes this the fastest 80Gb/s Thunderbolt 5 external SSD storage drive for your Apple Silicon Mac computer, when paired with a PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD.
I've been using the new TB501 Pro with a 4TB Samsung 9100 Pro PCIe Gen 5 NVME SSD and it is the fastest external drive I have used with my M4 Max MacBook Pro.
This enclosure will work with any Thunderbolt 5 Apple Silicon Mac computer, such as the MacBook Pro, Mac mini and Mac Studio. It will also be compatible with any Apple Silicon Mac computer that has Thunderbolt 4, but the speed will be slower on Thunderbolt 4. It will also be compatible with future Macs with the new up and coming Apple Silicon M5 processor and M6 processor and beyond.
