Young Talents Shine at Jib King 2024 in Absolut Park
The Jib King 2024 kicked off the Absolut Park contest series with an unforgettable weekend in Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl. Nearly 200 participants across two days brought the Jib Park to life, setting a new record for the event and showcasing the growing excitement around Freeskiing and Freestyle Snowboarding.
Selin Lakatha (AUT) defended her title in the Snowboard Pro category, while 15-year-old Dima Luchkin (UKR) claimed victory in the men’s division. On the Freeski Pro side, Big Air World Cup winner Matej Svancer (AUT) and X-Games gold medalist Lisa Zimmermann (GER) delivered stunning performances to secure their wins.
Saturday saw amateurs from Grom, Rookie, and Adult classes shine in the Jib Park’s versatile setup, while Sunday’s spotlight shifted to the iconic Absolut Park Stair Set, with 19 steps and four rails pushing the pros to new heights. Notable highlights included 13-year-old Marie Kuhlmann (GER) surprising everyone with a podium finish in the Snowboard Pro division and Spain’s Paula Benito landing second.
The event marked a milestone for freestyle sports as a WSPL Elite Event, offering competitors the chance to earn points in the newly introduced "Rail" discipline on the World Snowboard Points List.
