Absolute Batman is officially getting an animated series from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation, and this could become one of the biggest Batman projects in years.
During the Annecy International Animation Festival, DC Studios officially announced that an adult animated adaptation of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta's massively successful Absolute Batman comic series is now in development. The series will feature Scott Snyder as executive producer and showrunner while Nick Dragotta joins the project as a producer.
Absolute Batman has become one of the best-selling comic book launches in recent memory, selling more than 6 million copies and completely reinventing Bruce Wayne as a working-class hero with no manor, no fortune, and no traditional advantages. Now that story is heading to animation.
