![The Switch Sees Benefits with BEMAC
Earlier this year, Japan’s BEMAC completed the deal to become majority stakeholder in The Switch, an acquisition providing the proverbial ‘win-win’ for both sides, as BEMAC [along with partner Mitsui] got a leg-up on modern electric solutions for ships, while The Switch saw benefits from the assets of a much larger organization and an entrance into the difficult-to-penetrate Japanese shipbuilding market. At SMM 2024 in Hamburg, Maritime Reporter TV caught up with a quartet of executives from both organizations to discuss changes in the organization to date, as well as some practical advice for shipowners mulling the switch.
