Before the sacred sign becomes a word, it already inhabits a field. Above and below, within and without, before and behind, near and far—these are more than locations. They are primal distinctions through which the mind learns order. In Thoth’s grammar, space itself becomes a hidden script, and meaning emerges from the geometry of relation.
The first principle is Position. What stands above may signify precedence, what stands below may indicate descent or dependence, and what stands behind may suggest origin, ancestry, or concealment. The second principle is Boundary. Circle, wall, rope, gate, and cut determine where one condition ends and another begins.
