Here is the latest entry in my Vlog series regarding my ongoing escape from New Yorkistan. Today was a low day. I almost reached my breaking point. After having yet another screw up by someone other than me put the sale of my house in jeopardy, I was ready to throw in the towel. This entire process, between my legal issues and trying to sell what is allegedly mine, has taken an extreme emotional and physical toll on me. I almost felt like I was left with no options. I almost felt that it was time to give up. Almost.
Thankfully, I have some pretty kickass people who still give a rat's ass what happens to me. A few of them, my wife included, worked together to help talk me down when I needed it the most. Through a mixture of empathy, understanding, and proverbial smacks across the head, the message got through. Giving up is not an option. I've fought too hard and for too long to throw it all away now. Pick a similar cliche. They all apply. And, those folks are right. I'm not done yet. Not by a longshot.
So while much of this video was a form of therapy for me, hopefully it can help some others, too. Even when you feel like you're in your darkest hour, there is often some light that you might just not be seeing. Sometimes it takes another pair of eyes to point out that glimmer. And sometimes, that little glimmer is all you need to get you through to the next step, the next day, the next hour. It was for me, and i hope it will be for others, as well.
