An adventure program set in the South Pacific during the 1930s, "The Gold Monkey" was created by Donald P. Bellisario who at the time at a huge hit series - "Magnum P.I." - on rival network CBS. Stephen Collins, Caitlin O'Heaney, Jeff McKay and Roddy McDowall were the stars. The series garnered many fans but only lasted for one season.
