This is a sad story about a family, who applied to the Bureau of Land Management to patent the family’s small cinder mine in the early 1990s. An application which should have only taken 6 months took nearly three decades and a federal lawsuit, only for the Bureau of Land Management to turn them down.
Their home is still vacant and decaying in the desert sun! What will be the final outcome? Will the family finally be able to go home? It’s currently unknown.
