Welcome to A WonderGrove for Birds — a vibrant animated series designed to educate and entertain young children through engaging songs and storytelling. In this singalong episode, children are invited to sing along with Brooke as she sings about birds and nature in a fun, interactive way.
This environmental science lesson was inspired by Nature’s Best Hope, Young Readers’ Edition (amazon.com/Natures-Best-Hope-Young-Readers/dp/1643262149) by Douglas W. Tallamy. He is the co-founder of Homegrown National Park® (homegrownnationalpark.org ).
This series was created by Terry Thoren, the former CEO of Klasky Csupo, Inc., the company that created The Wild Thornberrys. Mr. Thoren has a lifelong passion for birds, inspired by nine glorious years as a child making weekend visits to the beautiful 220-acre Sapsucker Woods Sanctuary at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, NY.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology created 7 Simple Actions to Help Birds. This video was inspired by their action to Protect Our Planet from Plastic. The other six simple actions include Make Windows Safer, Keep Cats Indoors, Reduce Lawn, Plant Natives, Avoid Pesticides, Drink Shade-Grown Coffee, and Watch Birds—Share What You See.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology works tirelessly on behalf of birds every day of the year. Their mission is to interpret and conserve the Earth’s biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds and nature. We recommend that you visit their website and explore the wonderful learning opportunities they have for children. https://www.birds.cornell.edu/home/
