I've developed a little teaser for A Twurkey Tale — and to set expectations: this is very much a sketch (a moving storyboard / tone test). I’ve done a ton of writing and world building for this—beats, drafts, gags, character lore—and this is just a peek at the vibe. I used all the tools for this including physical and digital drawing and painting, but all the motion was done by prompting.
For as long as I’ve made things, people have called my art weird… sometimes gross… but almost always funny. That sweet spot—odd + warm—is where I live, and where the Twurkey belongs.
Real talk: AI image-to-video models are incredibly hard to direct (blocking, timing, eyelines… chaos). Great for exploration, but for me... not the final product. Next, I’m building physical maquettes/mini sets or CG puppets/sets to craft a truly stop-motion-esque version with controlled performances and tactile warmth.
I’m grateful the Twurkey has brought joy around the world—across platforms it’s now north of a billion views. This film will explore the origin story for our beloved headless and featherless bird.
If it makes you chuckle and feel a little cozier, it’s doing its job. Honest notes welcome.
