I am devastated by the news that Dave Barnacle has passed away. Dave was a freelance graphic artist who created countless pieces of Palitoy packaging art during their golden era, contributing to the Action Man, Tiny Tears, Pippa, Star Wars and Action Force brands.
I was fortunate enough to spend a few days with Dave Barnacle back in 2011, when I was recording interviews for the Story of Action Man documentary and he was a lovely man, who was so generous with his time and knowledge that I could never thank him enough.
Our thoughts go out to his loving family at this very sad time. Rest in peace now Dave and godspeed xxx
