EAA is saddened by the death of test pilot Mike Melvill, a frequent and inspiring presence at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

One of Mike’s most renowned accomplishments came in 2004, when he piloted SpaceShipOne to the edge of space as the team claimed the XPrize for the first successful civilian spaceflights.

The EAA Aviation Museum’s SpaceShipOne exhibit will continue to honor Mike Melvill’s pioneering achievements and inspire future generations of aviators.
