With the recent donation of Electro Motive F40C #614 to the Illinois Rail Museum by Metra, C. Vision thought it would be a great time to look back at these one-of-a-kind six-axle beasts when they still earned their keep moving thousands of Chicago Area commuters on a daily basis. From the Video cameras of Marshall and William Beecher, this glimpse will feature video views of these unique commuter locomotives from the 1990’s to the early years of the 2000’s on Metra’s Milwaukee West and North operating Districts. Several formats of video were used over the years to make this production, so sit back and enjoy the audible roar of these venerable blue and orange brutes, at several locations not normally available to the casual railfan around Chicagoland.
