In this episode Bob and Jessica discuss Dutch Sheets’ use of stories to build his theology. They demonstrate that he is interpreting stories to fit his preconceived theology rather than rightly expounding God’s Word. The passages that Sheets does cite are taken out of context and misapplied to support his errant theology. They encourage listeners to learn how to properly interpret God’s Word, understanding that the Holy Spirit inspired authors, and not the reader, determine the meaning. Our job is to read and understand it.
