“We're certainly excited to hear about Prime Minister Carney's D.I.S. Strategy and the defense boom. We're seeing it quite evident at all the events we're at. Every defense show sold out. Lots of new companies and industries coming into the industry, getting involved, the banks, finance, and others. We feel something's coming. As we look at all of the exquisite systems, all the submarines, the aircrafts, we also implore them to look at the clothing systems. This is so important. There's a lot of innovation that can create advantage in the North, and with the Arctic region being so important, we've got to clothe our soldiers properly.”

“Wuxly’s been engaging quite a bit with government. We’re developing and really bringing forward some of the capabilities and where we can create operational advantage. Also helping with the retention and recruitment of soldiers. Gear is one of the most important things that a soldier has. It’s something they talk about from their first day to their last and it’s important that we provide them with the top level gear in the world.”

“So I think the most important thing to realize is the Canadian defense industrial base is largely plugged into the American one, since Canadian companies are able to participate in the American defense industrial base. So the change that the Canadian government is proposing is to really try and develop more capabilities here for Canada, and build partnerships with other allies than the United States, notably in Europe. And similarly, the scale of investment that is involved. Is quite significant by Canadian standards, certainly in peacetime.”

“And as we were talking to folks, either who would be potential customers but who are not, the idea was like ‘oh this is really cool logistics work, have you considered defense because they have a need?’ And so when we looked towards defense it turns out yes we fit very perfectly in terms of what their requirements are and what their asks are and what they're generally looking for.”
