As far as big boss fights go, Fuban in Black Myth Wukong isn't too bad. He seems intimidating in your first playthrough but he's got very forgiving moves to dodge or 'Rock Solid' parry.
That said, my NG+3 fight didn't go as I'd hoped. I managed to take no damage, but the crits I was hoping for from spec'ing out for crit chance didn't happen, so I didn't get the big flashy 'Pluck of Many' minion smash at the end that I wanted. Both smash attempts in the fight failed to crit miserably 😭
At the end he still had some health left so I thought, well, just transform and that'll be cool - but he basically died instantly so you really don't even see the transform either. 🤷♂️
Oh well.
And I think I missed just about every perfect dodge served at the table. 😔
I didn't really want to repeat this fight because it goes on for a while with not much happening. That, and I've also never been a fan of big bosses, let alone big bosses with lock-on points that can make you swing and miss a lot, like you see happen in this fight. I mean, I could have positioned myself better I suppose to limit that happening, but you know, I didn't. 🤣
Happy to take my no damage warts and all and move on to the next boss - especially since I also don't like hurting Rhino Beetles, even when they are Yaoguai King's of the desert!
One thing I'll give Fuban is that he's not a frustrating boss. I don't find anything particularly bad about him other than his legs being a bit hard to hit depending on your lock on, but that never gets in the way of beating him. If you switch your lock-on around like I didn't, you'll have better luck with that too, so it's partly my own fault that I hit the air as much as the boss here.
I also like the environment here. For some reason I get a better framerate here than anywhere else in the game, and I like that!
