A Smile Away, Indian Classical Dance with Spoken Word, performed to the IndianRaga production of Beethoven’s Fur Elise (Indian Mix). Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dances combine to highlight how a simple act of kindness can go a long way in building and strengthening relationships amidst the hustle and bustle of contemporary life. Choreographed and performed by dancers Asha Rowland (Bharatanatyam), Pushkara Chaganti (Kuchipudi), Sharanya Swaminathan (Bharatanatyam) the dance portrays three different protagonists who represent relatable characters enmeshed in multiple situations in society. The accompanying spoken word voices their reflections, nudges them towards living life with more empathy, more connected to the world and people around them.
