I have great news and I wanted to proclaim my deepest gratitude to all who have supported my family and I during this impossible journey.
After 4-1/2 months in the hospital, coming home in a wheelchair on oxygen 24-7 and learning to eat, talk and walk again, I am humbled by the vast number of people it took to save my life.
I am empowered by the strength and integrity of my community, friends and fans.
I am most impressed by my wife Maria, who valiantly stood over me like a guardian angel.
I've been home from the hospital for 5 months and I'm walking and finally surfing again (and off all meds and oxygen!), but I still have a LONG way to go before I am fully recovered.
Think of me as strong again; it will drive me to total recovery.
The video is long but there are many people to thank. There were so many, that I couldn't possibly name everyone. If I didn't name you, please know that you are appreciated for your prayers and help. I couldn't have survived without you.
