What happens to items that still have life left in them? In Itasca County, they’re getting a second chance.
A $163,004 grant is helping expand the ReUse Itasca initiative, a partnership between Itasca County Environmental Services and Habitat for Humanity that began piloting in April 2025.
And the impact could be significant. Habitat’s ReStore has already helped divert over 12 million pounds from the Itasca County landfill since 2007.
