This is a deviation from my typical approach to examining Scripture. While developing Episode 18, I went off on a bit of a tangent as I began to think about Christ's sacrifice and God's standard of forgiveness. However, I decided not to include this information in the original episode because it drew attention from the main topic of focus, namely, Christ's role in God's law.
Note, this video's intended audience are atheists; as the views expressed in this video/rant are certainly not going sway the minds of any Christians. Furthermore, I am aware of the arguments theists could use to refute the claims made in this video. I would venture most Christians believe Christ's actual sacrifice was not made on the cross, but rather, battling Satan in the effort to redeem the World's sins, or whatever they believe exactly happened "down" there (although I would love to see what evidence they have in support of where Jesus went and what he did after his execution).
Regardless, I wanted to have some fun with the concept of "A Sadomasochistic God" and share my observations on what I perceive to be the contradictory nature of Christ's sacrifice and God's standard of forgiveness/punishment.
