Critical Issues Commentary | A Review of Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets, Part 33 – Clear Instructions from Paul Ignored @CICministry | Uploaded March 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Dutch Sheets describes what he calls “The Butterfly Anointing” – that is, the Holy Spirit directing our prayers, fluttering this way and that until we land upon the right subject, allowing Him to pray through us. Sheets tells of a minister who ceased sharing his message to pray in tongues for twenty minutes to reinforce his claim that the Holy Spirit wants to pray through us, which is based on his misinterpretation of Romans 8:26. Bob DeWaay and Jessica Kramasz use 1Corinthians 14 to counter the claims made by Dutch Sheets. Sheets’ description of what happened in that meeting was in direct violation of the instructions given by the Apostle Paul. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and He already knows what is needed.
This is part 33 of a critical review of Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets, Bethany House, 1996.
