In this video, I’m sharing my experience rotating at Planned Parenthood as an OB/GYN resident physician and reflecting on what it’s been like to provide patient care in this setting. This is not a political discussion, and it’s not meant to persuade anyone toward a particular belief. Instead, it’s a personal perspective on what it looks like to care for patients in real clinical environments where people are making complex, deeply personal healthcare decisions.
I also talk about something I think is important in medicine in general: the ability to separate personal beliefs from patient care, and what it means to provide care without judgment while still holding space for the emotional weight that can come with these experiences. My goal with this video is to create a thoughtful, respectful space where people with different perspectives can engage with the human side of healthcare, even if we don’t all agree on every aspect of it.
