Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a record 634,879 TEU of containers were loaded onto ships from ports in July.
In a written statement, Uraloğlu shared maritime statistics for July.
Uraloğlu stated that they are continuing their efforts to increase Turkey's share in maritime trade, saying, "The amount of containers handled at ports in July increased by 14.5 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 1,259,801 TEU. July was the month with the highest number of containers loaded onto ships from our ports, totaling 634,879 TEU."
Minister Uraloğlu also noted that the number of containers handled at ports between January and July increased by 5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 8,273,352 TEU.
