Using the default top layer designs like this will limit the pattern options, but it would be pretty easy to use the same process with custom patterns (or text/logos/illustrations/etc)
The main thing is that the flexibility of a thin PLA print is enough to make it really easy to remove from leather hard clay, which gives a whole bunch of options for adding designs.
