A pre-planned local area power outage gave me a rare opportunity to experience my local HF noise levels without local interference. Even though this outage only covered a few roads around my house and a limited number of properties, the impact was incredible! I heard New Zealand for the first time from home 😀
I now need to search for the repeating ~70KHz interference the plagues me on 15m and again on 80m. In fact it may be contributing to the background noise on all bands. This specific interference didn't disappear when I did my own house power-off test previously.
