Fr. Jerry Byrd was raised in a strong Christian family, so when his mom became pregnant with him and doctors suggested terminating a possibly difficult pregnancy, she was firm in her conviction to keep her baby.

Later, when Fr. Byrd became Catholic and discerned a vocation to the priesthood, he began to understand more deeply the ripple effects of his mom choosing life, and the lasting spiritual fruit of her Christian motherhood.
