In 1978, Australian pilot Frederick Valentich was flying over the Bass Strait when he radioed air traffic control about something strange following his plane.
He described a strange object with bright lights, said it was hovering above him, and eventually told the controller:
“It’s not an aircraft.”
Seconds later, his radio transmission ended.
Frederick Valentich and his Cessna were never found.
Was it a tragic accident? Spatial disorientation? Or did he encounter something we still can't explain?
