![Building My Dream Bedroom Pedalboard (in about a minute)(PedalTrain Grande)
@spiral_caster on Instagram
People sometimes ask me what pedals are actually on my board, and that changes all the time...pedals come and go. So I decided to film a quick video where I build my dream board (all pedals I absolutely love)- and show my process. This rig is capable of just about anything (although it definitely caters to my styles of music) and is dead silent with zero tone suck thanks to a combination of using quality patch cables, a programmable isolated 10 channel looper with high quality buffers, and mounted isolated power supplies underneath.
Why is it a bedroom pedalboard? I havent played a live show since Covid, so this board is designed around the aim of making a huge variety of sounds possible underneath my desk where I record into my DAW. Certain issues I would have had to address with a live rig before like having the loop switcher up front for fast scene changes, or elevating some pedals to make sure my foot doesnt slam into a neighbor pedal...are no longer a concern...so I can place more pedals with cool secondary functions, alt footswitches, and tap tempo in the front (PS-5, MOOD, Night Sky, etc...) and engage anything else I want with my hands π€·ββοΈ
Board is: PedalTrain Grande
Signal chain is:
1- Chase Bliss: Blooper (looper)
2- Walrus: Luminary V2 (pitch/octaves)
3- BOSS: PS-5 (pitch shifter)
4- GFI System: Rossie (envelope filter)
5- Benson: Preamp (boost/drive)
[ENTER One Control OC-10 Crocodile Tail Looper]
6- Alexander Pedals: Syntax Error 2 (bitcrusher/glitch)(unreleased)
7- Chase Bliss: MOOD (micro looper)
8- Spaceman Effects: Sputnik III (germanium fuzz)
9- EarthQuaker Devices: Life Pedal V2 (distortion/octave fuzz)
10- Strymon: Compadre (compressor/master volume)
11- Strymon: El Capistan V2 (tape delay)
12- GFI System: ORCA (digital delay)
13- Ground FX: Keto (double chorus/spring reverb)
14- Cooper FX: Arcades (Grain card) (granular delay/reverb)
15- Tefi Vintage Lab: Golden Era (filter/vibrato)
[EXIT LOOPER]
16- Old Blood Noise Endeavors: Sun Light (modulated reverb)
17- Cooper FX: Generation Loss V2 (filter/lofi/noise)
18- Spaceman Effects: Delta II (harmonic tremolo)
19- Strymon: Night Sky (massive stereo reverb)
w/ Old Blood Noise Expression Slider connected to the Compadre as a master volume for the whole rig, and an Old Blood Noise Expression Ramper connected to the Rossie for some auto filter sweeping action.
Powered by Voodoo Lab: Pedal Power 3 and Pedal Power Digital power supplies
Most patch cables are the insanely tiny and reliable Disaster Area Designs EVO cables. Def a few George Ls thrown in as well.
Music in this video is from Tim Marchand, who used stems and loops from my FREE Loops & Stems V1 sample pack and totally re-worked some of them into a completely new vibe. Thanks Tim!
