Prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among men in the United States. September is prostate cancer awareness month. Now, researchers are studying whether artificial intelligence can help doctors detect the disease earlier—and more accurately. Dr. Frank McGeorge is here to explain how the technology is being tested. MRI is generally the most informative prostate-focused imaging test before a biopsy is done and for local treatment planning. Now, the Cleveland Clinic is studying artificial intelligence as a way to help specialists analyze MRI images more efficiently.
