Meet the larval seedbox – a new restoration tool designed to release millions of baby corals directly onto damaged reefs across the Great Barrier Reef.
Early trials in the Whitsundays during last year’s spawning season, led by CSIRO with support from Southern Cross University, are already showing incredible promise, with some areas surrounding the seedboxes recording settlement rates up to 100 times higher than natural levels.
