This week I'll make a classic cocktail with a twist of sophisticated flavors. It’s deep, it’s spicy, it’s sweet, with a banana kick that compliments the cardamom flavors so well.
Like sitting on the banks of the River Seine on a beautiful spring evening with an excellent cocktail!
Something you will want to experience again and again!
Cardamom & Banana Vieux - Carré Cocktail Ingredients
3/4 oz (22.5 ml) Rye Whiskey
3/4 oz (22.5 ml) Cognac
1/4 oz (7.5 ml) Banana Liqueur
1/4 oz (7.5 ml) Cardamom Simple Syrup
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
4 Drops Cardamom Bitters
Lemon peel expressed over the top, drop in for garnish.
Cardamom Simple Syrup:
8 oz. Water
8 oz. Sugar
1/2 Tbsp powdered Green Cardamom
You can find powdered Cardamom in the "spice/baking" isle of most supermarkets.
Method:
Bring water to a boil.
Add the sugar and Cardamom powder, whisk until sugar is dissolved.
Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes, remove from heat.
Strain and let cool. Refrigerate, It’s good for about two weeks.
