I should have heeded the warnings, I should have listened. I should not have brought more souls upon this cursed prophecy.
I am filled with regret, regret of bringing in those who only poisoned the waters of a new path, and wrecked the very thing we tried to rebuild.
regret of putting my trust into their forsaken hands as I thought I would start anew, it was the biggest mistake that I have ever made.
regret in pulling myself out so soon when it all started to crumble again. I could’ve fixed it, tried to patch the wounds in which they were picking at, but I was too scared of what they’d do to me with the knowledge that could sew my fate.
regret fills my mind each moment passing. however, even after all that unfolded.. it still feels like I have won. as time goes on, even with regret still lingering, the hurt of these emotions fade away.
purpose was fulfilled, instead of broken. like it was all supposed to happen to get to where I am now. standing so high upon this pedestal that I’ve voluntarily built for myself from each moment of trauma and guilt.
knowing that I was the reason it still somehow held together, and as soon as I was removed, it came to a complete collapse. It feels.. satisfying, in a way.
while the thorns of the past still prick at me standing here, it gives me a new feeling of freedom and release. new friends have found me, as I have found them through the rubble. I am happy. finally, I am happy.
I should’ve known you never changed, and now I shall continue to sit idly by as you finally crash and burn.
to you, old friend. one last fucking hoorah.
