The Conservatory Garden’s young crabapple trees are blooming for the first time in Central Park!
In the fall of 2023, the old trees had reached the end of their lifespan. They were over 70 years old at the time of their removal and showed significant signs of decay and decline. Thanks to our dedicated staff, this iconic Garden—and its crabapple allées—will remain healthy and beautiful for generations of visitors.
The mission of the Central Park Conservancy is to preserve and celebrate Central Park as a sanctuary from the pace and pressures of city life, enhancing the enjoyment and wellbeing of all.
