A N T I C I P A T I O N.

You will anticipate everything you do in life.

Using the word “anticipation” as a diagnosis is a sign of your lack of understanding. Continuing to use it—when it has never fixed a single person on the range—is a clear reflection of your intelligence.

(Short Attention Span Version)

“Anticipation” sounds precise, but it’s not. It’s a label disguised as coaching.

People throw it out—“you’re anticipating”—like they’ve diagnosed the problem. They haven’t. They’ve just named a symptom and stopped thinking.

Nothing about that tells the shooter what to do differently.
It’s lazy language.

Saying someone is anticipating is no different than telling a shooter they have a “trigger issue” or an athlete they have a “timing problem.” It describes what’s happening at a surface level while completely ignoring why it’s happening and how to fix it.

If you can’t break it down into:
• what specifically is happening
• why it’s happening
• what to change immediately

…then you’re not coaching—you’re labeling.

Real coaching replaces vague terms with actionable direction:
• What is the eye doing before the shot breaks?
• What is the hand doing in response?
• Where is the breakdown in sequence or timing?
• What should happen instead, in exact terms?
