*A Mysterious Talisman Turns Los Angeles Into An Apocalyptic Battleground | Double Dragon | Full Sci-Fi Action Movie | Mark Dacascos, Scott Wolf, Robert Patrick, Alyssa Milano* - Two brothers have half of a powerful ancient Chinese talisman. An evil gang leader has the other half, and determines to get the brothers' half and have a complete medallion so he can gain absolute power.
What happens when you take one of the most iconic, bone-crunching arcade beat-'em-ups in history and transform it into a brightly colored, campy, post-apocalyptic martial arts adventure? In the delightfully nostalgic 1994 cult classic Double Dragon, the year 2007 reimagines an earthquake-ravaged Los Angeles—now dubbed "New Angeles"—as a lawless, neon-soaked playground ruled by street gangs and rogue corporate lords.
The high-octane plot follows martial arts-practicing brothers Jimmy (Mark Dacascos) and Billy Lee (Scott Wolf), who live under the strict, loving guidance of their surrogate mother and protector, Satori (Julia Nickson). Little do the brothers know, Satori has spent decades guarding one half of the Double Dragon Medallion, an ancient, mystical Chinese talisman capable of granting complete dominion over the soul. The absolute worst happens when a ruthless, power-hungry shadow-tycoon named Koga Shuko (played with absolute scene-stealing villainy by Terminator 2 legend Robert Patrick) acquires the other half of the medallion, giving him control over the body. Obsessed with gaining absolute power, Shuko commands an army of post-apocalyptic street punks—including a heavily mutated giant named Bo Abobo—to hunt down the Lee brothers and rip the matching half away. Teaming up with Marian Delario (Alyssa Milano), the badass leader of the underground vigilante youth group "The Power Corps," Jimmy and Billy must unlock the legendary magic of their own talisman to survive the ultimate final showdown.
