In this interview Noel talks with Paul Andersen about color blindness. Noel tells Paul the conclusion of the story about the family tossed into turmoil by a genetics lesson taught in 10th grade biology. Paul also shares what his selection for "walk up" music would be if he was being announced at a major event!
This video was created to support the @LabHamster AP Biology Unit 5 storyline titled "A Misadventure in Teaching" which explores how color vision deficiency is inherited.

![Modeling Meiosis [AP Bio Unit 5]
How do two parents create a unique child? This video explores AP Biology Topic 5.2: Meiosis, demonstrating the chromosome movements that underlie inheritance!
Well use paper models of seven chromosome pairs to perform the Meiosis lab.
We break down how Meiosis I and Meiosis II physically model Mendels Laws:
Law of Segregation: Alleles on homologous chromosomes separate into different gametes.
Law of Independent Assortment: Non-homologous chromosomes assort randomly.
We then use Punnett squares to predict the inheritance of traits, including sex-linked conditions like red-green color vision deficiency.
Finally, we model fertilization to determine the final, unique genotype and phenotype of the offspring.
Perfect for AP Bio students and anyone fascinated by how chromosome sorting creates genetic diversity!
🎯 Learning Objectives:
Model Segregation and Independent Assortment during meiosis.
Predict outcomes for autosomal and sex-linked traits.
Explain how meiosis creates haploid gametes.
