UC Davis announces a historic $120 million gift from the Weill Family Foundation, led by Joan and Sanford I. Weill—the largest gift ever made to veterinary medicine worldwide. The gift will expand education, accelerate research that benefits animals and people, and support the construction of a new small animal teaching hospital. In recognition, the school is now named the University of California, Davis Joan and Sanford I. Weill School of Veterinary Medicine. This historic commitment expands the school’s capacity to deliver care, discovery, and education at a scale with truly limitless impact.
