In this video, I document my method for fabricating red Lexan/polycarbonate filters for LED displays; I show RED in this case, but the filters can also be green or blue using the same method. These new filters have a nearly identical thickness, color, effectiveness and other key properties to the now-discontinued products of PRD Products, which was the primary source of such filters for decades.

The cost of producing a new filter is also comparable to the older PRD ones, e.g. a 3" wide x 1.5" high red filter would come to about $2 per filter, amortized from the cost of buying the Lexan sheet and a can of the translucent red spray paint.
