This is one of several versions of the relationship between Sandra Roberts and Patrick Jane

STORY: Patrick Jane, a consultant with the CBI and a former psychic, is confronted by his boss, Teresa Lisbon, regarding his family. Reluctantly he tells her that he grew up with his father and has no idea who his mother is. All he remembers that he feels relates to her is a mental image of a white flower.
While telling Lisbon his story, Patrick finds himself thinking of all the times he's been missing his mother, whoever she might be, and that he sometimes have had the feeling of someone watching him from a distance.
A few days later a newcomer arrives at the CBI; Sandra Roberts, who is a British investigator who has been called in due to a case that is very similar to something she has solved in the past. Patrick feels instantly drawn towards her and befriends her, but finds her quite withdrawn and secretive. The reason for that is, of course, that she is the Queen of Valinor and thus a magician, and the only reason she is really there is because she has sensed that magic is involved.
Eventually they solve the current case and Sandra says goodbye to Patrick. He asks her to stay but when looking away she vanishes in thin air, leaving him shocked and sad. Sandra arrives back in Valinor and soon finds her country in trouble; a Sleeping Curse has hit the country and only a few have been able to stay safe. Sandra is desperately trying to solve the mystery but soon finds that she needs help, thus she sends for Patrick.
Meanwhile Patrick has felt quite depressed after Sandra left, as if something is missing from his life. He is heading through the corridors of the CBI building when he suddenly finds himself passing through a portal and ending up outside Alcroth Iauryávë. Curious, he heads inside and finds Sandra standing there in her royal garb, smiling at him.
