A lovely marey tale

Once there lived a little mare
Her name unknown, but one thing clear
She lived a life of peace and love
With friends in harmony

Her coat twas blue
like foamy seas
Her eyes as green
as fresh mint leaves
her little hooves left little prints
on grass and fallen snow

Now once the mare did sing a song
She sang all day and all night long
Her friends all smiled and learned her words
so they could sing it too

“I am a mare and so are you
We do mare things like good mares do
We graze and jump and gallop free
Being mares so happily”

There was a mare who did not sing
She listened on as notes did ring
The blue mare wished she’d join the song
and asked her what was wrong

I want to sing, but fear the worst
If I’m too loud then will I burst?
If I’m too soft will I disappear?
I’ll just stay and listen here

You silly mare! The blue one said
Too many thoughts in your mare head
You will not burst, nor disappear
Now come join in and don’t despair

The mare was right no wrong was found
She could sing soft and very loud
She had such fun she changed her mind
To sing with friends was a good time

Many days have long since gone
Since mares did sing that lovely song
It lives in you, as sung through me
Now rehearse the melody
