An Ode to Low Grade Boulders ft our protagonist, The Easy Grade Boulder and RISE, Haus of Janky Blocs and cool V1s.
I really loved cooking up this fun ode to V1 to show some love to easy grade boulders and to tell the story of the Rise V1 route-setting showdown. A couple of weeks ago 5 route-setters assembled and competed against one another to set the best boulders from V0-V2, the idea being that they’re arguably the most valuable boulders in the gym - everyone can appreciate them, they get the most traffic, and they’re able to teach climbers at every level so much!
Easy grade boulders are the cornerstone upon which our climbing skill and strength is built, but they don’t always centre the stage. Kudos to Rise for the great creative concept and for putting on an event that brought together climbers at all levels to celebrate movement and puzzles.
