Avalon Waterways river cruises are a great option for me because they have the Avalon Adventure Hosts who lead fitness classes on your cruise ship. The Avalon Active and Discovery cruises plus standard cruises have a wide range of active shore excursion options, including bike tours, hiking and kayaking among other activities. I tried the active cruise tours on my river cruise in the Netherlands and Belgium and on my Douro River cruise on the new Avalon Alegria.
